Often, we receive calls from clients who require outdoor electrical work that is too high for even our tallest ladders. To accommodate these projects our Blue Crest Team uses a scissor lift to get to high, out of reach positions. Scissor lifts are often essential for commercial projects or residential upgrades where a hydro pole is on the client’s property.
If your electrical projects require a scissor lift, you will need to ensure that the area is on solid ground. This allows the lift to either smoothly drive up or have our service van haul it into position without the concern of getting stuck in mud or in low points. Scissor lifts have the advantage of being easy to transport. As you can see in the photos below our Blue Crest van can easily transport the lift between job sites.
The scissor lifts also have limitations. Unlike a genie boom lift which can turn and move multiple different directions, a scissor lift can only go up and down.
Scissor Lift Training
At Blue Crest Electric, our electricians routinely update their training. Updated training helps in maintaining the safety levels of our already scissor lift certified technicians. It also provides first time training for our new electrical apprentices.
In the photo to the left, you can see our new apprentices being trained in the proper use and safety of our scissor lift. At Blue Crest we know the importance of proper safety training on the job site so that our electricians and clients stay safe.
